A place to slow down, breathe, and feel at home
Welcome to Villa Shanta, a family-owned and lovingly run space. This five-bedroom villa sits within a lush, private tropical garden, complete with a pool and baby pool — designed for a slow, relaxed break.
Set across four and a half acres of farmland, shaded by 35-year-old teak and coconut trees, Villa Shanta offers a serene escape just an hour from the city.
Perfect for families and groups of friends, it's a place to truly unwind — whether that means picnics on the lawn, long afternoons with a book, chai under the trees, board games with loved ones, birdwatching, or simply lingering by the pool.
What began as a simple one-room idea after the pandemic — just a way to better use the green space our family has owned for nearly 40 years — slowly grew into something much more. Over time, it evolved into the warm, lived-in space we now call Villa Shanta.
Named after our mother, Shanthala, the home reflects everything we value as a family — welcoming guests as we would our own family, ensuring everyone is fed well and has thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and creating spaces where celebrations and togetherness feel truly special.
Nestled within our four-and-a-half-acre farm, Villa Shanta is a place where every corner carries a story. Restored family antiques and thoughtfully upcycled pieces sit alongside the unexpected — teak trees growing through the roof, and Avva's old travel trunks finding new life as coffee tables — carrying the soul of earlier times.
As city dwellers ourselves, we understand the quiet joys of open skies and greenery. This shaped how we designed the home — so you're always connected to the outdoors, even from the comfort of the glass-lined living and dining space.
Inspired by our travels as a family, especially with children, we've created a space that balances rustic charm with gentle comfort. It's filled with small, thoughtful details — everything we would look for in a holiday home. It isn't polished or perfect — and that's part of its charm. It's warm, personal, and deeply rooted in its surroundings. More than anything, it's a place to feel at home.
Trees grow through our dining hall roof. Gardens tended by hand. We let nature lead.
Every antique, textile, and upcycled piece was chosen to feel warm and alive.

My name is Deepthi and I started running Villa Shanta about three years ago. A fashion designer by qualification, I have worked in apparel design for many years, followed by a chapter in event and celebration design.
Hosting at Villa Shanta combines everything I'm passionate about — all things aesthetic, meeting new people, hosting, and of course experimenting with interesting food!
When I'm not at Villa Shanta, I'm usually working on the graphics for the events we host — or being a mum to our two little boys, seven cats, and a small forest worth of house plants.
Safe open grounds, a kids' play zone, baby pool, and endless space to run — parents relax while children explore.
Birthdays, reunions, corporate offsites — our dining hall seats 30+ and the grounds hold far more.
Tucked in the pastoral quiet of Kumbalgodu village, Villa Shanta sits just an hour from Bangalore — far enough to feel like a world away, close enough for a weekend escape.
No words or photographs can fully capture Villa Shanta. The only way to know it is to be here.
